TREAT-NMD Secretariat

Working out of the network coordination office the secretariat which is based in Newcaslte University, UK, provides support and coordination for the TREAT-NMD network on a daily basis.

The secretariat facilitates the Executive Committee's interaction and communication by arranging and hosting the monthly conference calls whilst also ensuring agreed upon action points are readily executed. Guidance is given when sought by the Executive Committee and face to face meeting are arranged.

The IT platform which underpins all TREAT-NMD activities is hosted in Newcastle and maintained by the various members of the secretariat. A major part of the platform comes in the form of the TREAT-NMD website and intranet which falls under the responsibility of the secretariat for site maintenance, development, development and provision of electronic tools along with the dissemination of content. Each month a newsletter is compiled by members of the secretariat and is sent out from the coordination office.

Funding opportunities to address the sustainability of the network and future projects are indentified and targeted with a number of grant applications submitted in the last year alone.
