Peter-Bram ’t Hoen

Dr. Peter A.C. ’t Hoen is assistant professor in LUMC's Department of Human Genetics and leads the bioinformatics research group. He set up high-throughput RNA and protein profiling studies for muscle diseases and established a muscle gene expression databases containing data from all studies published. He currently supervises research on the identification of RNA and protein biomarkers that correlate with disease severity in mouse models for muscular dystrophies and in DMD patients. These biomarker profiles can be used to assess therapeutic effects after (AON) treatment. He is leader of the proteomics workpackages in the EU project BIO-NMD (www.bio-nmd.eu), which is aiming at the discovery of new diagnostic and therapeutic biomarkers for
DMD and COL6 myopathies.
