Yves Fromes is Head of the department of Preclinical Development at Genethon.

After studying medicine, he obtained in 1995 a Ph.D. degree in molecular genetics. Sought by the researcher Ketty Schwartz, he joined the Institute of Myology in 1996 where he led a research team on cardiac involvement in neuromuscular diseases, and the core facility for experimental physiology and in vivo evaluation of biotherapies. He obtained his habilitation to direct research at the University Pierre and Marie Curie (Paris VI).

In 2009, at the request of the AFM he participated in the creation of the ‘Heart Network’. In September 2010, he began organizing a department for the evaluation of biotherapies coordinating research efforts between Genethon, the Institute of Myology and the Boisbonne Center in Nantes to facilitate the preclinical development of innovative medicines.
