The Cooperative International Neuromuscular Research Group was founded in 1999 as the Clinical Research Arm of the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Research Center and the Research Center for Genetic Medicine at the Children's National Medical Center in Washington DC.

It started, and remains, a multi-disciplinary and cross-institutional network of clinicians and scientists with the shared goal of wanting to positively impact the lives of neuromuscular disorder patients and their families.

Eric Hoffman Eric Hoffman

Eric Hoffman, PhD earned his PhD in Genetics at Johns Hopkins University and then pursued post-doctoral training with Louis Kunkel at Boston Children’s Hospital working on Duchenne muscular dystrophy gene and protein identification. Eric is currently Vice Chair of the TREAT-NMD Executive Committee.

Lauren has been involved with the Cooperative International Neuromuscular Research Group (CINRG), an academic clinical trial network, for over 10 years. She is the central genetic counselor and operations manager for the Coordinating Center at Children’s National in Washington, DC.
