Elizabeth McNally is Ward Professor and Director at Center for Genetic Medicine, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Professor McNally has led preclinical and clinical research on inherited cardiovascular and neuromuscular diseases. Her expertise in the genetic mechanisms of cardiomyopathies and muscular dystrophies has led to new insight about how heart failure and muscle dysfunction occur.

Dr. McNally received her undergraduate degree from Barnard College at Columbia University majoring in Biology and Philosophy. She was awarded M.D. and PhD. degrees from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. McNally trained in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Medicine at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and in Genetics at Children’s Hospital Boston. Professor McNally leads the Cardiovascular Genetics Program at the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute at Northwestern where she is also part of the Muscular Dystrophy Association Clinic.
